New accomplishments this week.

Derald has removed and replaced the base attachments for the awning.  He has polished under and around it too.  Today he put some kind of rust remover on those awful hubcaps.  Some of it is coming off.  Progress.  We see progress.  The neighbors stop and give us encouragement, I'm sure hoping we don't leave it spot polished!  The fall weather has been wonderful.  I had to take the Sportsmobile camping Wed. night to Weston State Park.  It was fall painting weather.

Hot water heater is INSTALLED!!

Hot Water Heater is INSTALLED!!

Derald installed the new hot water heater this weekend.  The new one went in WAY easier than the old one came out.  (Refer to previous posts!)  Travis will come over and help with the electrical hook ups.  He was here this weekend figuring out the wiring.  Derald was SO HAPPY he was here to figure it out. Thanks son!

A gift from Martin.

Martin painted this metal rocking chair for me with the Virgin of Guadalupe.  It's the perfect chair for the airstream!  THANKS Martin!!!  I suspect he will need to give me business cards.  When we travel and sit this baby in front of the airstream, I will have people coming up wanting to know where I got it.

My elbows hurt this morning.

ONE with the polisher.

Friday delilvery

The UPS delivery man has gotten to know us. He has delivered something about daily this week.  Today it was #9 polishing paste.  He always makes a comment about the progress.  My mission today was fabric and upholstery shops.  I went to 2 fabric stores, and I swear I will NEVER go back.  I got a tip on a neighbor that does upholstery!  I stopped by their house only blocks away, and met him.  Very nice guy, and he and his wife are driving over this weekend to look at it, then they will give us a bid.  I would way rather support a local independent person like that right here in the HOOD.  Derald spent time at our local hardware store, his favorite place to shop.  Jane, Martin and Travis came over for lunch.  I BBQed turkey burgers, sweet potato fries, fried apples and smoothies.  Everyone was gracious to act like they enjoyed it.  Turkey burgers are not everyones favorite!  Martin brought my chair he painted.  I'll take photos Sat. and post them.  It is WONDERFUL.  Perfect for the Airstream.
This picture has nothing to do with anything.  I took it at the Weston Apple Festival last weekend.  This guy was rolling cigars!  I asked him how he got in to that occupation.  He said he wanted to do something he enjoyed, as he puffed his cigar.  His little child was standing by him, as you can see their head over the top of the right side of the cigars.  How do you explain that to a kid?  The guy did a great job rolling those cigars though.

This man is a polishing machine!

New lights are mounted!!

The previous owner had some odd lights he put on and drilled additional holes.  To cover that boo boo up, Derald made the 'cover plate' that he placed under the light.  You can see how he rivited the actual light fixture on the plate he made!  Slick work from the sheet metal man!  He is taking advantage of our wonderful fall weather and polishing like a mad man.
